After seeing this very disturbing video of Middle School children pledging their support, in a quasi military drill team fashion, I am relieved that the teacher that released the video on the Internet has being suspended. I do advocate freedom of speech, but when a teacher uses his position to indoctrinate his students, that is abuse.
Asking the students to be involved, and to do research, is good. They should. But they should consider both sides of the coin, and emphasize that America is the land of opportunity.
The video shows some kids stating that because of Obama, they can be the next architect, or the next lawyer, and that they can ask for and take responsibility for their actions.
What upsets me the most is that someone could have told those kids that they could aspire to be all of those things, and to take responsibility for their actions, and set their sights in a bright future while helping establish and maintain the reputation of the best Nation in the world, the “shinning city upon the hill”.
