These were the words of a young female Soldier straining her voice while acting as a tour guide for a delegation of local Sheiks, businessmen and local politicians. I can now understand how the animals at a Zoo feel. Well, I guess that we are trying to show the delegation that we are still trying to help them, and not really trying to figure out how to get the heck out of the land of Hammurabi and into the land of the Poppy seeds as promised by our President.
I cannot fault the locals here for wanting to know what in the world we are really doing since the door kicking trying to find terrorists was left to the Iraqi Army. They are having a modicum amount of success in their venture. But that modicum amount of success could be compared to President Obama’s budget cuts… uuummmm, sorry, no… the Obama administration just faked making cuts in other areas other than defense.
Let’s see, it could be compared to Barney Franks success in protecting the housing and banking industry…. Uuuuummmmmmmmmmm no, I don’t think so either, he failed miserably there too.
OOOOOOHHHHH yeah, Murtha’s family member succeeding to operate a useless storage facility funded by Defense Contracts for no apparent service rendered? Yeah, he was actually successful.
Or, how about Vice President Gore’s brilliant defense of Global Warming against all of those scientists who testify against man made global warming? Nope, wait, the only one the Democrats allowed to present the counter point wasn’t a scientist, but Newt Gingrich, who, even though is a bright and articulated political figure, IS NOT A SCIENTIST.
My point is that I have watch the Iraqi Army go from a rag tag bunch of cowards who run at the sound of a truck back firing to a semi coherent bunch of folks trying to defend their Nation. That is more than I can say of famous groups like Moveon.org, Self confessed terrorist William Ayres and wife, the California Congresswoman who could not see the light that she was shining on the performance of her job when she said that some Cuban Citizens live better than some of her constituents.
Some Iraqis could teach some of our Congress people a thing or two about courage and patriotism.
